Facing the storms of life

Yesterday while at work I was having a conversation with a friend of mine and he shared to me his worries and troubles which really touched me so much. As we conversed, I also happened to share my problems with him and he got shocked because mine were incomparable to his and so we consoled each other.  As we discussed further, another lady joined us and also shared her story with us. Funny enough, hers was so terrible compared to ours. But with the gaze at her angelic and adorable face and style we all couldn't believe that she was going through these at all. She was a bonny and strong belle. Well, I learnt something and got motivated in a certain way with our stories. We just see people waking up every day, walking down the streets, eating at fancy restaurants, having happy and smiling faces, smelling good, cruising posh cars, living in mansions, holding and putting on expensive things but they are going through a lot in their lives. There is pain behind their smiles and nice

ABSURD: A man sues God for interfering in his affairs

The Times of Israel is reporting that one David Shoshan has filed a restraining order against God for being negative towards him. The man was said to have told a court in Haifa on Tuesday, May 3, that God has been very negative towards him over the past three years, and has demanded that He (God) stops interfering in his life. In a response to the case, the court documents proved that since God did not present himself at the hearing, the case was thrown out by the judge. The complainant disclosed that he has tried countless times to obtain the restraining order through the police department, but did not succeed. Ahsan Canaan who presided over the case, threw out Shoshan’s request, calling it absurd and asked the complainant to get help from someone besides local law enforcement. This is really absurd and i wonder why he wasn't tested for drugs or sanity.

Stress: Everyone has their own opinion

I asked a colleague of mine why she does not have facebook posts and she replied me, saying  "it's stressful."  In amazement, i just looked at her and wondered if she was okay. If you ask me a question like that, i will have a long list of answers to give you regarding my sources of stress. You might call her lazy but the truth is that everyone sees stress differently. There could be reasons for her answer; maybe because she has other engagements that keep her busy after our 12hour job that make her see logging into facebook and uploading a post as a big deal. There are so many ways by which we could get stressed. We could either get stressed  physically, mentally or emotionally. Stress is a disease we should all learn to handle or avoid when it is health-threatening. Let's try to live a stress free life.

Planet Mercury will cross the face of the sun on May 9

Image
The sun will have a close encounter with the planet Mercury traveling across its face on May 9, 2016 in one of this year’s most awaited astronomical events. The transit of Mercury, as the event is called, occurs 13 times per century, the next one happening on November 11, 2019. After that, no transit will take place until November 13, 2032. Mercury’s orbit will bring it between the Earth and the sun, casting a small shadow across the solar face. A transit is only possible when Mercury, Earth and the sun are perfectly aligned in three-dimensional space. The transit will officially begin at 7:12 A.M. on May 9 and will take 7.5 hours for Mercury to complete its passage across the sun’s face. While this phenomenon takes place, it can be seen from nearly everywhere on Earth in the course of the day. With proper equipment, observers in parts of western Europe and Africa, eastern North America, and most of South America can watch the rare event. Photo of planet venus transition acro

WhatsApp block in Brazil has been lifted

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg called on Brazilians to demand his company's WhatsApp messaging service never be blocked again after an appeals court overturned the application's second suspension in five months. In a post in English on his Facebook page, the US billionaire and Facebook founder urged Brazilians to gather outside Congress in the capital Brasilia at 6 pm (2100 GMT) on Wednesday to rally in favour of legislation that would prevent Internet services from being blocked. WhatsApp was cut off in Brazil at 2 pm (1700 GMT) on Monday after a judge in the remote northeastern state of Sergipe ordered Brazil's five main wireless operators to block access to the app for 72 hours. The reason for the order was not made public. The suspension of WhatsApp's text message and Internet voice telephone service for smartphones was lifted after about 24 hours when an appeals judge on Tuesday ruled in favour of an injunction by the company's lawyers, the court said in a

Facebook rewards a 10 year old for discovering instagram security bug

Earlier this year, a 10 year old boy who is not even old enough to sign up on Facebook, impressed Mark Zuckerberg by hacking Instagram, the photo-sharing application owned by Facebook. The Helsinki-based genius, called Jani, received $10,000 from Facebook for spotting a security bug. Jani uncovered a flaw that allowed him to delete any written content on the social media platform by altering the code. "I would have been able to eliminate anyone, even Justin Bieber," the boy boasted. As an aspiring security expert, Jani sent his discovery to Facebook via email and verified it by deleting a comment the company posted on a test account. The bug was resolved at the end of February. In March, the tech giant informed Jani of the fix and gave him his monetary reward. Jani plans to use the reward to buy a new bike, football gear, and new computers for his brothers, he said in the interview with Iltalehti. He topped a 13-year-old to become the youngest ever recipient of Faceboo

Prolonged blackout in Choba community

Considering the present circumstances as regards the price of petrol in Nigeria, the power outage in Choba community in Rivers state, Nigeria which has lasted for close to 2 months has caused its residents to worry. The power company which developed a habit of charging exorbitant bills disregarding the high rate of power outage have done nothing to remedy the situation. Though about 6 power transmission poles were destroyed during a heavy rainfall in the area, no work has been carried out as to fixing the problem. The current price of petrol in stations which is at 140naira per litre still remains a problem since generators have been relied upon for power.

These traders seized the opportunity during a press visit to the area to let out their woes as the road condition has affected and crippled their businesses since potential customers have no access to the area. We hope that the government will do something about it.

Simple rules for studio monitor placement

Image
Whether you mix or just make beats, no matter how much you spend getting yourself a pairpair of quality studio monitors, there are 3 major rules besides acoustics you must observe in order to get the best out of them. The following outline should guide you when setting up your monitors. 1.  The Equilateral ðŸ”º triangle setup:   Forming an equilateral triangle with both monitors and your head is the best setup to have when positioning your studio monitors. To achieve this though, the distance between both monitors from each other has to be the same as the distance between your head and both monitors from both angles. This ensures a wide stereo image.                                                                                                         2.  Use monitor pads: Lower frequencies are felt more as vibrations than heard like higher ones. When you share the same surface as your monitors, you will also feel/hear more lows than what is truly present in your

Perfomance boost for Lumia 950 and 950XL

Image
The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL have now been updated with the latest version of the Windows 10 Mobile OS, and many new changes have been brought forward. Among these new changes, one of the most noticeable changes has been made to the camera. The users can now click photos in the HDR mode any time they want. This is a big deal as the HDR mode, in the past, was controlled by the discretion of the phone itself. It was based on the lighting conditions that the phone decided whether or not to use the HDR settings. However this power is now in the hands of the users, and the HDR photos can be clicked any time the users want after this new Windows 10 Mobile update. This will particularly help those who want to capture photos in the HDR mode in bright light conditions. Additionally, the Windows 10 Mobile update for the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL devices also helps bring in another new update, where the users now get to experience a better battery life than ever before. This new update
