CULT WAR: One dead and another in critical condition

The lingering crisis between rival cult groups in Ajegunle and Ikorodu areas of Lagos state assumed violent dimension, weekend, with one person killed.

Doctors were said to be battling to save the life of a 13-year-old girl, who was shot in Ikorodu, while  others, including a policeman, were said to have sustained injuries.

Fight, as gathered, started last week Sunday in Ajegunle, over power tussle between members of the Eiye confraternity at Kehinde Street and a rival group on Ezeagu Street.

Residents said it continued until last Friday, where dangerous weapons were used. One Endurance Augustine was killed.

The arrival of policemen from Ajeromi Division reportedly averted more causalities as the gun-welding cultists fled.
