3 Catholic priests escape death as armed robbers attack parish

Three  Catholic priests cheated death when daredevil robbers stormed the parish house of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Umualumaku, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, Imo State.

The priests include the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Anthony Dieme, his curate, Rev. Fr. Christian Obioha and a resident priest, Rev. Fr. Innocent Obiukwu.

Vanguard gathered that Fr. Obiukwu is taking refuge in the parish after surviving onslaught from the Boko Haram insur-gents in the North-East.

Narrating their ordeals, Fr. Dieme said that they lost valuables, including mobile phones, laptops, wrist watches and some cash.

He said the five-man gang gained entry into the chancery at 3a.m., tied them up and demanded for N5 million.

Following the increased crime rate and violence in the country,  this shows how far hoodlums can go just to achieve their aim.

WHERE IS THE FEAR OF GOD THESE DAYS THAT PEOPLE WILL ROB THE HOUSE OF GOD???
