SOS: Anambra community cries to IGP over assassinations


The people of Osumenyi, in Nnewi South Local Government Area, Anambra State have raised the alarm that unknown faces suspected to be hired assassins have taken over the community and therefore appealed to the Nigerian police for safety.

The community
in a “Save Our Soul” SOS, letter to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mr. Muhammed Idris, signed by the  President-General of Osumenyi Development Union, ODU, Chief Celestine Obi-Oguata, appealed to the police to  deploy security surveillance in Osumenyi community until the end of the month of August    when their Afia-Olu festival would have ended.

Chief  Obi-Oguata in the petition alleged that some, prominent members    of the ODU such as Chief John Okonkwo, Chief C.L.C Akunedozie, Emaka Asomugha Mkparu among others were assassinated by unknown people in the community, and up till date no arrest has been made concerning their untimely and violent deaths.
