Loaded tanker with petrol goes up in flames


A tanker loaded with Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol, reportedly went up in flames in Iree, Osun State on Friday morning. The tanker was said to have contained about 33,000 liters of petrol.

The tanker reportedly caught fire in the process of transferring fuel into an underground tank at a fuel station at Poly Junction in the area.

The fire, which started in the morning, lasted for over three hours. Though no life was lost, about ten nearby shops were reportedly burnt from the incident.
