Fulani herdsmen kill at least 48 people in Enugu community in Nigeria

At least 48 people have been killed and over 65 houses and shops have been put to flames by fulani herdmen in a fresh attack in Enugu community. The attack came two days after a security hint of an impending attack by over 500 fulani herdsmen from nassarawa state, leaving over 58 injured residents in the hospital.

These herdsmen were said to have wielded grenades, AK 47 rifles as well as other dangerous weapons which made them powerful enough to have overpowered the team of soldiers and mobile policemen drafted in the area.

The Commissioner of Police, Nwaodibo Ekechukwu who visited the area urged the people not to take laws into their hands as measures were being taken to prevent future attacks.

A worker at Bishop Shanahan Hospital confirmed that 30 bodies and 22 injured persons were received by the hospital in the morning hours.

The menace of these Fulani herdsmen has thus become worse than Boko Haram and President Buhari has been called upon to do something to stop this madness.
