6 yr old girl burns in church fire in Lagos

Tragedy struck in the Egbeda area of Lagos when a young girl was burnt to death in a church on Saturday Morning, June 11.

The church, Faith Revival Church, was reportedly having a vigil when fire broke out at about 2 am in the boys-quarters of the church and the Lagos state Fire Service was immediately called to put out the fire.

Mr Rasak Fadipe who is the director of the fire service said the vigil was going on in the main auditorium while the boy-quarter was consumed by fire.

He said it was after the fire was put out that the body of the girl was discovered.

“We met the fire raging when we arrived. It was after the fire was put out that we discovered the little girl’s burnt body in one of the rooms."

“The church authority was yet to ascertain the cause of the fire. We finally put out the fire at about 5 a. m.”
