PETROL PRICE HIKE: Removal of subsidy by President Buhari

When a new president is elected, the people always expect a better performance than the past one. In my opinion, Jonathan's government was way better than this silly talk about 'change' (APC), which has done nothing but bring the economy of Nigeria to its knees.

First, it was about the exchange rate of dollar which hiked to about 400naira from 150naira and got everything about two times expensive. Presently dollar exchanges for 318naira, still this has not made living cheap.

Still on the negative 'change' by the ruling party, the government made things worse by making silly decisions that got petrol price up to 250naira from 86.5naira per litre. It got so bad that sachet water initially being sold for 60naira per bag became 180naira.

Now they have removed petrol subsidy, causing it to sell at 145naira per litre. They claim it will make life better by providing money for infrastructures and other amenities.

It looks like the country, Nigeria, has become a private company where decisions can be taken without the impact on the masses.

I really don't know if things will get better cos it looks like the economy is nose-diving into a mess.

Sometimes, i forget that Crude oil is produced in Nigeria.
