Niger Delta Avengers threaten to shock the world

The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) has warned President Muhammadu Buhari as well as the military, that ‘something big’ will happen and it will shock the whole world. The militants also threatened to organise more destroying attacks on gas pipeline in the Niger Delta region.

This was contained in a statement published by the group spokesman, Colonel Mudoch Agbinibo.

It reads: “To the IOCs, indigenous oil companies and Nigerian military, watch out, something big is about to happen and it will shock the whole world.”


Earlier this month (May), the Avengers issued similar threats before embarking on series of attacks.

“This is just the beginning and you have not seen anything yet. We will make you suffer as you have made the people of Niger Delta suffered over the years from environmental degradation, and environment pollution,” the group said.

The militants had last week bombed gas and crude oil trunk lines belonging to the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation and Chevron Nigeria Limited.

After this operation the group has announced the promotion of its fighters, who provided the attacks to the rank of Brigadier-General.

PRISON BREAK: 15 inmates escape from Nsukka prison

No fewer than 15 inmates were believed to have escaped from Nsukka Prison in Enugu state in a jail-break that occurred on Tuesday night. A reliable source at the prison who pleaded anonymity said on Wednesday that the inmates broke their cells and scaled over the perimeter fence. “The inmates carefully opened their cells and scaled the perimeter fence of the prisons. “Before prison officials on night duty knew what was happening, about 15 inmates had escaped,” the source said. 3 persons confirmed dead in Akokwa Imo State

DSP Andrew Enwerem, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) who confirmed the incident in a chat with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Owerri, said some others sustained injuries. He explained that an unidentified man, said to be from the northern part of Nigeria, had run amok and killed a girl and a woman and thereafter killed himself.
